Ho Ho Ho Christmas in the snow! It's that time of year again and we're all on a countdown to the in-resort festivities. Santa hats are on and reindeer onesies are bounding around the resort. The mountain will be filling up with children this weekend, and our Christmas spirit is running high!
After some incredibly freezing weather here, down to -17°C last weekend in Les 2 Alpes, it has warmed up by around 10 degrees, we’ve got a temperature range between +4°C to -2°C for the next week.
Chatting to Alex from Tip Top Ski coaching, who’s up on the hill right now in a white out says “We are expecting more snow this afternoon in Les 2 Alpes, overnight and Friday morning. Up to 30cm on the mountain. The isotherm is rising so I think it will rain in the village. As Les Deux Alpes has easy slopes high up as well this isn’t the end of the world! The avalanche risk remains high at 4/5 and will remain high this week due to large amounts of snow and the snow being humid and heavy lower down. All slopes are in great condition, even down to the village! And the snow conditions are exceptionally good above 2600m, our mid station. The sector la Fee has a planned opening for this weekend."
