Updated

Les Deux Alpes is the largest ski resort in the Dauphine region and, in winter, it makes up part of the Grande Galaxie ski area along with Alpe d’Huez, La Grave, Puy St Vincent and Vaujany. It is an elongated valley with the neighbouring villages of Venosc and Mont de Lans sitting at the northern and southern tips. All the towns in the valley are connected via regular bus services.

Airport bus services to Les Deux Alpes

NEW for Winter 2019/20: Direct bus service linking Les 2 Alpes with Lyon airport. Previously, public buses from the main French/Swiss airports required a change in Grenoble onto the regional bus network to take you up to resort (this is still the case with Geneva airport). This new service runs at least once a day, every day except Wednesday, with additional services operating on a Saturday and drops you directly to the main bus station in Les 2 Alpes.

Passengers flying into Geneva airport can take a public bus service to Grenoble Gare Routiere, the city's train and coach station. From here, you can take a connecting bus to Les Deux Alpes - see above. These routes work during the summer and winter seasons.

For more information on the best transport options from the airport see our Getting Here Guide.

Les 2 Alpes local buses

Free in-resort shuttle services operate throughout the winter and summer seasons on three different circuits. Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes on the red and green lines from around 07:45 to 21:00 daily. Shuttles between Les Deux Alpes, Bons and Mont de Lans run three times per day; the first one at 08:30 and the last at 18:00. Remember to flag the bus so the driver knows to stop.

Full timetables are posted on each bus stop, take a look at the interactive town map for their location. Bikes can be taken aboard these buses for no extra charge, however, this is subject to availability as the number of bikes they can carry is limited. New for Winter 19/20: at various bus stops, flash the code with your smartphone for live positioning of the next bus.
