The summer ski season starts this weekend with the opening of the Les Deux Alpes glacier ski area, a week ahead of Tignes.
The snow conditions on the glacier are some of the best we've seen thanks to a particularly snow heavy winter season - this webcam view shows a very snowy glacier park at 2300m.
Les Deux Alpes have developed one of Europe's best summer snow parks which attracts park rats from June through to September.
The park features two half-pipes, one of which meets the Olympic halfpipe specifications.
The 14 ski lifts run from 7.30am and open up a ski area of 90+ hectares, starting early means skiing on a colder harder snow-pack as by the time the midday sun comes around, it urns quite quickly into slush.
The Kumi Yama 2012 competition is on the 6th,7th and 8th of July, which sees three days of park contests at all levels.
