Les 2 Alpes caters really well for everyone from little tots to energetic teenagers.

Half-term is the perfect excuse to swap screens for snowy adventures, and Les 2 Alpes is one of the best alpine resorts for family holidays in the French Alps. Set at the foot of one of Europe’s largest ski areas, this lively resort offers far more than excellent skiing, with a huge choice of winter activities to suit toddlers, teens and adults alike. From husky sledding and thrilling toboggan runs to ice skating, swimming, snowshoeing and spectacular mountain experiences, Les 2 Alpes makes it easy to create unforgettable family memories. Here’s our guide to the best ways to make the most of your February half-term holiday in the mountains.

Evenings out in Les 2 Alpes

The bars in resort are generally very family friendly, especially during the early evening when it's perfectly normal to see families enjoying a relaxed drink after a day on the slopes. Children are made to feel welcome, with many venues offering games, cosy seating and a laid-back atmosphere, whilst those serving food often have dedicated children's menus if your après drinks spill over into dinner… (no pun intended).

Fun on the snow

Les 2 Alpes has plenty of dedicated spaces and activities designed to keep younger visitors entertained. Head to family-friendly areas such as the Piou-Piou zones and beginner areas around the resort, where children can enjoy gentle slopes, playful learning spaces and fun features designed to help them build confidence whilst discovering the excitement of the mountains.

You’ll find that local sports shops sell and rent sledges, so pick up your own and head to one of Les 2 Alpes’ dedicated sledging areas for some classic winter fun. The toboggan run at the foot of the slopes is a popular choice for families, offering a safe and accessible way for little ones to enjoy the snow, while older children can take on longer descents. Whether it’s a first snowy adventure or a race to the bottom, sledging is a simple way to create lasting family memories in the mountains.
