Updated

There’s no better way to celebrate a great day on the slopes than with a few well earned après-ski drinks amongst friends.

Whether you prefer to soak up the last of the afternoon sun with a quiet beer or dance on the tables in your ski boots, Les 2 Alpes has no shortage of great spots where you can amuse yourself when the lifts shut for the day.

Après-ski

Enjoying the bar's terrace

The Pano Bar: Up on the mountain at 2,600m near the Jandri mid-station, things kick off at 1500: Resident and guest DJs plus varied entertainment including a sax player, an amazing balloon sculptor, and dancers. It can get pretty wild.

Diable au Coeur: If you prefer something a little calmer, this bar also has DJs on the mountain and a heated terrace bar, but without the same volume of music.

Umbrella Bar: Down in the village, it's the liveliest place for après-ski and only open until 19:00. Located at the foot of the Coolidge slope at the Côte Brune Hotel. DJ's spin the tunes from 5pm and and dancing on the bar is encouraged! The umbrella roof is opened in good weather and it's a great place to dance while the sun is setting.

Smokey Joes: Over in the main square Smokey Joes has live music six days a week and a selection of craft beers from their microbrewery in Bourg, plus a pool table and free WiFi. There is no terrace but much more space indoors than the other popular après-ski spots, so it's a good choice on bad weather days.

If you would rather enjoy a couple of pints than dance the afternoon away, there are plenty of pubs and bars to choose from, often with live acoustic music. Popular bars along the main street include the Windsor PubSecret BarPolar Bear Pub and Red Frog catering to British tastes, whilst the Motown Café, Mezzanine Bar, Lutins Bar and Board Room are more French in style.

Late nights

Party at Jukeboxx

Les Deux Alpes' nightlife really gets going after 22:00. Rue des Vikings (up by the Diable lift) turns into a lively little street and has several bars worth stopping in at.

The Jukebox: Serves up a selection of music themed nights from house to 80's to prohibition-era Jazz.

Melt-In-Art: Across the road it combines the roles of bar and art gallery.

K-ré Shooter Bar: At the top of the street has the biggest selection of cocktails in town

Polar Bear PubBy the roundabout and always popular.

The Spot: Just around the corner with regular live music and DJ nights.

Rhumerie: Any bar with a pirate flag flying outside is going to be dangerous and the legendary on the main street is no exception, specialising in home-flavoured rums and rum based cocktails all set to a pirate theme.

After midnight, popular dancing spots include Smithy's, the next-door Mini Bar and the Grotte du Yeti on the Place de Venosc. These don’t open any later than the rest of the bars, but they do attract the crowds later on with live DJs and a good party reputation.

Avalanche nightclub: After the bars close (around 02:00), Avalanche and the Café Brasilien are the destinations of choice for those not ready to head home. Both are busy until 04:00 or 05:00 with a mixture of resident and guest DJs pumping out the tunes.

O’Brian’s bar: Up in the Village 1800 area, keeps the party going into the small hours of the morning.
