Les Deux Alpes is firmly in winter mode now. The glacier has been busy for weeks already and the rest of the mountain is starting to look more settled as colder temperatures return. From the village you can see good coverage building higher up and there is a familiar early-season rhythm around resort, with more lifts opening and skiers spreading out beyond the very top sections.
Snow and Weather Summary
Current reports show a strong snow base at altitude, with snow depths sitting at around 180 cm on the glacier and upper slopes, while lower down in resort levels coverage is closer to 30 cm. Recent snowfall earlier in the month helped establish a solid base, and although the last few days have been mostly dry, cold overnight temperatures have kept the snow in good condition. Forecasts for the coming days suggest mostly settled weather with the chance of light snowfall later in the week, potentially adding a few centimetres above mid-mountain. Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing overnight at altitude, with daytime temperatures hovering just above zero lower down. On the slopes this means firm pistes in the mornings, softer snow developing through the day, and clearly better coverage and snow quality higher up compared to the village runs.
