Les Deux Alpes is in a good place for late March, with the glacier continuing to anchor the resort as conditions turn more spring like lower down. There is still a solid base across the mountain, and while the afternoons are clearly softer now, mornings are offering that familiar mix of firm pistes and quiet slopes. The resort feels settled, with a steady rhythm to the skiing at this stage of the season.
Snow and Weather Summary
Snow depths are currently around 80 to 120 cm at resort level, building to between 180 and 300 cm higher up on the glacier. There has been very little fresh snowfall recently, with only light dustings at altitude that have not significantly changed the base. Coverage remains strong across the upper mountain and glacier sectors.
Temperatures have been sitting between minus 8 and minus 3 degrees on the glacier, while resort level has been seeing daytime highs of around plus 5 to plus 10 degrees. The freezing level has been fluctuating between 2500 and 2900 metres, dropping overnight which helps refreeze the snowpack. Winds have generally been light, though occasionally moderate across the glacier.
Skiing is at its best first thing, with well groomed pistes offering firm and consistent conditions. As the day develops, snow softens into a classic spring surface. The glacier remains the most reliable area throughout the day, while lower runs towards the village become heavier and more chopped up by mid to late afternoon.
