Les Deux Alpes feels firmly settled into winter now, with the glacier looming above the resort and the pistes holding their shape well after a steady January. From a local point of view, the season feels reliable rather than dramatic, with good coverage across the mountain and a snowpack that has had time to stabilise. Conditions underfoot feel consistent day to day, and the high altitude terrain continues to give the resort a solid mid winter feel.
Snow and Weather Summary
Current snow depths are around 260 to 280cm at altitude, with approximately 90 to 110cm at resort level. There has been little fresh snowfall in the past week, but cold overnight temperatures have helped preserve the base, particularly on higher slopes. Temperatures on the mountain have generally ranged between -12 and -4 degrees Celsius, with freezing levels remaining well below the village. Winds have been mostly light, becoming moderate at times on exposed glacier areas but without causing significant disruption. Skiing is strongest on higher terrain and glacier runs where snow remains dry and grippy, while lower pistes can feel firmer early in the morning before softening slightly later in the day.
