Christmas week has arrived in Les Deux Alpes and the resort feels fully settled into winter. The village is busy, the lifts are spinning steadily and the upper mountain is looking strong under a reliable snow cover. There is a familiar hum around town as skiers make the most of the festive period, and conditions on the glacier and high slopes are giving plenty of confidence heading into the holiday week.
Snow and Weather Summary
Snow depths remain very healthy at altitude with around 180 cm reported on the glacier and upper slopes, while the village level sits closer to 35 to 40 cm. Recent cold nights have helped keep the snow firm and well preserved, especially in the mornings, and piste conditions have been holding up well through the day. Forecasts for the next few days suggest generally cold and settled weather with temperatures staying below freezing at altitude and only a small chance of light snowfall. Winds are expected to remain light, which should help maintain good visibility and comfortable skiing conditions. The difference between upper and lower terrain is still noticeable, with the best snow and most consistent skiing found higher up, while lower runs continue to improve gradually.
