Riders Confirmed for this Years Crankworx in 2Alpes
Some of the world's best mountain bikers are coming to town
With just 2 days to go until this years only European leg of Crankworx starts in 2 Alpes, we've got the run down of which riders will be competing in this years event.
The two biggest competitions - Slopestyle and Downhill attract some of the biggest names in the sport and they're always a huge draw for the crowds.
This year the competitors to watch out for are:
Slopestyle:
Anthony Messere (CANADA), Cam Zink (USA), Brandon Semenuk (CANADA), Martin SODERSTROM (SWEDEN), Tyler MCCAUL (USA), Kelly MCGARRY (GB), Logan PEAT (CANADA), Sam PILGRIM (GB), Brett Rheeder (CANADA, 1 in Rotorua), Szymon GODZIEK (POL), Yannick GRANIERI (FR), Sam REYNOLDS (GB)
Down Hill:
Gee Atherton (GB), Rachel Atherton (GB) (both having competed in Lenzerheide at the weekend, with a win for Rachel - her 3rd World Cup win in a row & 5th place for Gee) Loic Bruni (FR) (team captain for France vs the World at Crankworx, fastest qualifier & 2nd place at Lenzerheide, (Anneke Beerten (NL), Myriam Nicole (FR), Guillaume Cauvin (FR).

As well as these two categories there's also a whip-off contest, pump track challenge a mountain bike film screening every night, bike expo and various parties in the resort.
Riders are competing for good, hard cash, with the prizes in 2 Alpes totalling around 48,000 euros plus the chance to become King or Queen of Crankworx (25,000 USD), and if they're really on top form the Triple Crown sees riders who've won at all 3 stages of the Crankworx World Tour scoop up some big cheques (50,000 USD).
