1. Group ski lessons

Established in 1991, this ski and snowboard school was one of the first British ski schools in France and is renowned for its fantastic instructors and excellent customer service.

All instructors hold the BASI Level 4 International Ski Teaching Diploma or an internationally recognised equivalent. A wide range of lessons is available to suit all abilities and preferences.

Children’s group lessons are especially popular. With years of experience, instructors know how to strike the perfect balance between fun and learning. Each group has a maximum of just six children, allowing for plenty of individual feedback in a safe and supportive environment.

Adult group ski lessons, for those aged fifteen and over, offer excellent value for money. With a maximum of four adults per group, they feel more like shared private lessons than standard group sessions. You can expect personalised feedback, structured progression and high-quality demonstrations throughout.

This ski and snowboard school has gained a phenomenal reputation since it was established in Les Deux Alpes.

This school is dedicated to providing tuition which is tailor-made to your needs and your personal goals. All their fully qualified English speaking instructors have an in-depth knowledge of resort, some of who have been working in Les Deux Alpes for over 20 years. 

Whatever your level, from complete beginner to a confident black run skier, they will be able to help you make real progress and perfect your technique.

Lessons are completely flexible, with timings and meeting points tailored to your individual needs. Personal development and enjoyment are put at the forefront of lessons, with instructors facilitating your needs rather than teaching you what you already know. Their fresh ideas mean you'll really see an improvement in your skiing.

The school offers video analysis with their private lessons, filmed and reviewed with your instructor with a free theory lesson. 

For those that want to try something a little different, they also offer freestyle lessons where you can develop your skills in the park or get stuck into the deep powder off piste with a freeride class.

You can choose to learn on your own or with up to three other friends of a similar level to make a group of four.

Private ski lessons are a great alternative to group sessions, offering intensive and personalised learning tailored to your needs. Whether you're learning alone, with friends or family, or simply looking for a personal mountain guide, the experienced instructors will lead you to the best runs and provide high-quality technical feedback along the way.

Snowboarding lessons follow the same format as private ski lessons, allowing you to progress at your own pace. Whether you're linking turns for the first time or heading off-piste in search of powder, there's something on offer for every level.

6. Group ski lessons

This ski and snowboard school was first set up in Les Deux Alpes in 2013 and has gained a phenomenal reputation (just have a look at the reviews).

Group lessons

If you are looking for a great ski school that provides group lessons which give you all the attention you need whether you are stepping onto the slopes for the first time or you are perfecting your technique off piste, then this is the school for you. With FirsTrax it is almost like having a private lesson with only four in the group. Of course, if you do want one-to-one tuition, private lessons are also available.

All their fully qualified international instructors have a wealth of experience, some who have been working in Les Deux Alpes for over 20 years, so they can show you the best parts of resort most suitable for your level. You won't need to worry about any communication barriers, as they have tutors who speak fluent English.

They teach both skiing and snowboarding as well as freestyle where you can learn to do all sorts of fun tricks in the park. If you'd like to ski off-piste, then you can enjoy a Freeride lesson making fresh tracks in deep powder with all the safety equipment provided, either in Les 2 Alpes or in nearby La Grave.

Children's lessons

The school teaches children as young as 4 years old in a maximum group size of four. Where possible they will teach groups according to age and not just level. Children will receive a medal at the end of the week.

8. Group ski lessons

This ski school has been running in Les Deux Alpes since 1986 and has a strong reputation for delivering an excellent service. 

The school teaches all ages and abilities, so whether you are new to snow-sports or have been on the mountain a number of times, they can help you develop your technique.

Children's group lessons are available in the morning and the afternoon, whereas adult/teen lessons are only available in the morning. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 12 participants to maintain the quality of instruction. Snowboarding group lessons are available for adults and children from 10 years+ with a maximum group size of 10 people.

ESI St Christophe also offer kinder-garden for children aged between 3 and 6. All their instructors and childcare professionals are fully qualified and a number of them speak English.

9. Group ski lessons

The European Ski and Snowboard School is a well-established independent ski school in the heart of Les Deux Alpes. Its name has become synonymous with a quality service.

The carefully selected team of international ski instructors from Britain, Italy, France and Austria will provide a fun and effective way to improve your mountain skills, whether you’re a skier or a snowboarder. All of the non-British instructors speak great English and the team as a whole is comprised of experts who are passionate about the mountain. 

Group lessons

The ski school specialises in taking out only small groups (up to nine skiers or up to six snowboarders), or up to four in the VIP Gold class, so you will get all the attention you need to achieve your personal goals in complete safety. 

There is a video analysis session mid-week – a really useful tool for pushing your skiing to the next level or breaking a bad habit. At the end of week presentation on Friday you will be given a logbook to record your progress and guide your future development. All children get a free medal with their logbook.

Lessons are booked at the most convenient meeting point to get the most out of the skiing time. The lesson schedule is designed to avoid rush hours and bottlenecks, and start times are adjusted during peak weeks to minimise queuing.

10. Private ski lessons

This ski school has been running in Les Deux Alpes since 1986 and has a strong reputation for delivering an excellent service.

The school teaches all ages and abilities, so whether you are new to snowsports or have been on the mountain a number of times, they can help you develop your technique. Private lessons enable you to progress quickly as the lesson is tailored to your requirements,

Lessons can be booked on an individual basis or for a group of family and friends, but please note that you will all need to be of a similar standard.

You can book 1 to 2 hours lessons for up to four people.

With this ski and snowboard school you can book all their courses for one-on-one private tuition, or for couples or small groups of friends who wish to learn together. They offer everything from complete beginner lessons to advanced skills and off-piste clinics.

The attention to detail and potential to learn is excellent, as you work closely with one of their expert tutors. One-on-one tuition is possible, however these lessons needn’t be lonely. With private lessons you pay for the instructor’s time, so if you want to split it with up to eight of your friends or family, then why not? It’s also cheaper the more of you that take part. Private lessons enable you to jump the queues with their lift queue priority system in groups of a maximum of four people.

It is best if the small group is of a similar level to benefit most out of a private lesson.

A private lesson is like skiing a la carte - you choose:

Private lessons start from a few hours up to a full day. Please note that group size is limited to four people and in high season lessons are only available on certain dates at certain times.
