With a busy festive fortnight coming to an end, we bring you a rundown of the highlights of the last two weeks.
Saturday saw around thirty classic cars, vans and bikes assemble in the square for a brand-new event in Les Deux Alpes; the Vintage Motor Show.
The glacier in Les 2 Alpes opened this weekend and in the region of 3,000 people arrived in resort to get their first skiing and snowboarding of the season done.
Les Deux Alpes’ unusual trail running challenge returned for its sixth and perhaps its toughest instalment this weekend. Heavy snow, high winds and avalanche risk meant that courses had to be altered. Some competitors had a shorter run and others a longer one but all had a difficult time trying to race through deep snow.
In March the slopes get quieter, the queues die down and the weather usually gets warmer.

Saturday afternoon saw the arrival of around 3000 Rise festival-goers in Les Deux Alpes, and it didn’t take long for the party to get underway. Back for the third year running, this time around looks set to be bigger than ever.
The Mountain of Hell is back for its 20th edition, this time with a Clash of the Titans theme, on June 28th-30th 2019. The event attracts around 700 riders each year and has been hugely popular since its debut in 1999.
There are many trail races in the Deux Alpes area, but the Vertical Trail weekend is reserved for two of the steepest, most gruelling hill-climbs on the calendar.
For the nineteenth edition the competitors were greeted by three days of good weather and perfect biking conditions. The fastest riders hit speeds well over 100km/h and covered the twenty-five-kilometre-long course in just under thirty minutes.
