What's new in Les 2 Alpes winter 2017-18
Ski area developments, airport transfers, Christmas market & more...
Winter is fast approaching and there's even been a bit of fresh snow on the mountain tops in the last few weeks.
As ever at this time of year we're getting ready for the coming winter and there's plenty of new developments and news to share with you. Find out what's new in Les 2 Alpes this winter.

More flights & transfers from Grenoble
This year there are more regular weekday flights into and out of Grenoble Airport. There will be flight services every week of the season on Mondays (easyJet Gatwick), Tuesdays (Ryanair Stansted) and Fridays (easyJet Gatwick). Ben's Bus will have a service connecting all those flights to Les Deux Alpes. There are also even more weekday flights over the Christmas, New Year and half term period as well as, of course, loads on Saturdays and Sundays. Ben's Bus will have a shared service connecting every single scheduled flight into and out of Grenoble. Prices start from £47.80pp with discounts for groups and children.

Craig David headlines Rise Festival
The Rise Festival is back in Les 2 Alpes this December and none other than Craig David will be headlining this year. The festival runs from 16th - 23rd December and here promises to be an amazing line up of bands and DJs on various stages both in resort and at altitude. Don't miss out on the chance to kick the season off with a bang!
Exclusively for Rise week, BASS Les 2 Alpes are offering one hour ‘MOT’ style private lessons for one on one, or one to six skiers together, to give you a boost early in the week or fix any confidence issues that crop up once you get going. Places are very limited so get together with your friends to share the cost and get in touch now to reserve before they’re gone. (There may be options for some 2 hour slots from 3pm to 5pm but these are filling up fast too!)

New Christmas market
From 23rd to 30th December 2017, Les Deux Alpes will be hosting a Christmas market as well as Christmas themed week. A variety of entertainers will keep the children amused and there will be plenty of treats for everyone to enjoy from the little wooden chalets in the market. Grab a glass of mulled wine whilst you browse all the shops and enjoy the Christmas lights and atmosphere.
New multi-activity wristband
"Touch 'n' Go" is a new cashless system which allows you to get access to all the apres-ski activities in Les Deux Alpes just by swiping a special wristband. It offers a 15% discount on winter activities plus some other exclusive deals, making your ski holiday that little bit easier. You simply buy a 3 euro wristband from the Tourist office, charge your account - either online or via one of the ticket offices in resort, and away you go. Enquire at the tourist office for more details.

New toboggan run
A new toboggan run will be built along side the children's area on the snow front. More details to follow..

Snoocs & snowscoots
You'll be able to try something different this winter, which is a cross between ski-touring and tobogganing - Snooc. You don't need ski boots, in fact you can just head to one of the local sports shops and ask to hire the kit for the day. Skin up the mountain, and slide back down again on your paret-style sledge.
Also available to try on the mountain is the Snowscoot, which you may have seen in other resorts. It's a metal frame with two ski-like skids underneath and looks almost like a bike frame. You can use these on the Jandri Express blue piste from 3200 to 1600 metres.

More artificial snow production
Les 2 Alpes is pretty snow sure with its glacier, however to maintain great conditions year round, the resort will be adding to its network of snow canons and artificial snow making. There's an existing 'snow factory' in the Cretes area and this will be bolstered up with a second water pipe, allowing all the snow canons to run simultaneously. On top of this, the glacier will also benefit from new snow making equipment. This will be the first time that a resort has installed equipment like this on a glacier and in fact, it will be a world first.
New office & rental shop for Firstrax
FIirstrax ski & snowboard school will have a new office located at the resort entrance this winter. It will be near the climbing wall, 27, Avenue de La Muzelle. They will also have a new big rental shop so customers will have the chance to set their equipment up for their lessons and collect their equipment in the same shop.
More inspiration...
Les Deux Alpes opens for the coming winter on 2nd December 2017. If you're keen to get skiing before then, you can always come and 'Enjoy the Glacier' from 21st October.
We'll see you on the slopes!
