Apartment Destroyed by Fire in Les Deux Alpes
Second fire in resort in under two weeks
Around twenty firefighters were required to bring a fire under control in Les Deux Alpes yesterday lunchtime. The blaze which started in an apartment block on rue du Cairou was large enough to require intervention from three of the local fire brigades.
The apartment where the fire began was destroyed but firefighters were able to stop it spreading to others in the building. It is thought that an electrical fault caused the blaze. Alternative accommodation was found for the nine occupants of the apartment concerned.
This is the second fire of this kind to have occurred in Les Deux Alpes in less than two weeks.
